Antoine Griezmann, a striker for Atletico Madrid, is sidelined due to a “moderate” ankle strain, the Spanish team announced on Wednesday.
Diego Simeone took over for the injured French striker after 78 minutes of Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League first-leg loss for Atletico Madrid against Inter Milan.
According to Spanish media, the attacker is doubtful for Saturday’s La Liga match against Almeria and will not play in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal against Athletic Bilbao on February 29.
Griezmann should be ready for the second leg on March 13 against Inter Milan.
The 32-year-old, who has made 36 appearances in all competitions, has been Atletico’s main man this season with 18 goals.
