Anthony Joshua says he fears no one in heavyweight boxing

In a highly anticipated clash, Anthony Joshua is set to face mixed martial arts sensation Francis Ngannou on Friday, March 8.

Despite the fallout of potential mega-fights with Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, Joshua remains unfazed, firmly stating, “I don’t duck!” He steps into the ring as the clear favourite against Ngannou, bringing his experience of battling it out with the best in the boxing world to the forefront.

Ready for Any Challenge

Joshua’s willingness to face any opponent underscores his commitment to his fans. “You know what it proved to me, I’ve signed to fight Fury, I’ve signed to fight Wilder, I’ve signed to fight a lot of people.

“I just do good business. I’m a good prizefighter, I don’t duck a challenge. “I’m always up for it. I just feel to myself I’ll always be here and ready to fight any time,” he explained as reported by Sky Sports.

His attitude towards fighting is clear: he’s always game and prepared to take on any challenge that comes his way. Despite not being able to win back the unified world heavyweight titles in his rematch against Usyk, Joshua has bounced back with three consecutive victories.

Joshua’s Unyielding Spirit

Joshua’s storied career has seen him take on and triumph over a host of formidable opponents like Wladimir Klitschko, Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin.

Yet, the absence of Wilder and Fury from his fight list stands out. However, Joshua clarifies that it’s not for lack of trying; he had agreements in place to fight both.

The heavyweight boxer shared his frustrations with Sky Sports News about the collapsed Wilder fight, detailing how close they were to making it happen, “annoying in a way because in fight week we met up, we spoke to lawyers, we signed contracts, all that good stuff”.

Despite these setbacks, Joshua’s resolve remains unshaken. He asserts, “It’s a fight that fans want to see. I’m not saying it’s completely written off. It’s a fight where everything was signed and sealed. It just needed both of us to deliver. And he didn’t meet his end of the bargain.”
